Philippa S. Grumbley is a partner at The Coopersmith Law Firm, LLP. She has experience in a wide variety of general business litigation matters as well as employment disputes. She has prosecuted and defended claims involving corporate and partnership disputes, securities fraud, misappropriation of trade secret, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, contractual disputes, and other business-related torts. Ms. Grumbley also has experience in employment matters, including employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination claims, and has successfully represented plaintiffs at trial as co-counsel in a wage and hour collective action.
Ms. Grumbley volunteers as pro bono counsel for Free to Thrive, representing survivors of human trafficking. She is a member of the Welsh Inn of Court, the San Diego Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
Ms. Grumbley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 2004 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2009. After law school, Ms. Grumbley practiced civil litigation in San Diego and Los Angeles, before joining what was then The Coopersmith Law Firm in 2016. She became a Partner as of 2023, and the Firm changed its name to The Coopersmith Law Firm, LLP.
Ms. Grumbley has been a member of the California bar since 2009 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Originally from the U.K., Ms. Grumbley grew up in San Diego and in her free time enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
